How do I contact my assessor?

Your assessor’s contact details will be in your Portfolio. if you cannot access them there then call our Head Office.

How do I do another qualification?

If you have not yet completed your qualification with us, speak to your assessor about available next steps. If you no longer see an assessor on a regular basis but would like to start another qualification, contact our Head Office on 0161 764 7523 or leave us a message using Contact Us.

What is an IV?

IV stands for Internal Verifier. The Internal Verification process at Training For Travel is to ensure a high standard of quality assessment by all the assessors on our team. Your portfolio may be sent to an IV so that your assessor’s work can be checked. This is completely routine and does not indicate a problem with the work of your assessor. Under these circumstances your portfolio will be couriered back to you in time for your visit. You may also receive a telephone call from an IV during your programme or they may observe your assessment visit. They will ask you questions to confirm the standard you are receiving from your assessor, but again this is completely routine and does not indicate a problem with the work of your assessor.

What is an EV?

EV stands for External Verifier. External Verification is the process our awarding bodies, City and Guilds and Edexcel, use to ensure we maintain a high standard of assessment at Training for Travel. Your portfolio may be sent to an EV so that your assessor’s work can be checked. This is completely routine and does not indicate a problem with the work of your assessor. Under these circumstances your portfolio will be couriered back to you in time for your visit. You may also receive a telephone call from an EV during your programme or they may observe your assessment visit. They may ask you questions to confirm the standard you are receiving from your assessor, but again this is completely routine and does not indicate a problem with the work of your assessor.

Why do I have to do Key/Core Skills?

Key/Core Skills are an important part of your programme because they confirm your level of Communication and Number Skills as part of a Government initiative. They consist of a short exam and completion of a short work book. Once complete you will not need to repeat them if you do more programmes with us at that level.

Where is my certificate?

If you have an enquiry about a certificate you have not received, speak to your assessor in the first instance or contact our Head Office on 0161 764 7523 or leave us a message using Contact Us.

I’m leaving my job but want to continue my qualification. What do I do?

If possible your Training For Travel assessor will visit you in your new job to allow you to finish the qualification you have started. Discuss this with your assessor to see if your new role will allow you to gather evidence for your qualification. If this is possible, you will need to discuss continuing your qualification with your new employer. Training For Travel will support you in any way we can and will discuss the requirements with your new employer.
