TFT Insider Re-launch

TFT have revamped their student newsletter for 2010, making it more visually appealing and relevant. There are plenty of new features including a Website of the Month, and a Travel App of the month. Theres even a place designated to hearing our learners thoughts and opinions from the letters we receive. The relaunch will happen on 2nd August and will follow with an issue out on every 1st week of the month, so keep your eyes peeled learners and Training Managers. Changes to Apprenticeship Wages...

On 1 October 2010 the minimum amount an Apprentice can earn will change from £95 & will be replaced by a new minimum wage rate for apprentices of £2.50 per hour. The new rate will apply to those apprentices who are 18 or under, or those who are 19 and over but in the first year of their Apprenticeship. After their fist year, apprentices will be paid the national minimum wage for their age: • £4.92 per hour for 18-20 year olds (19-20 in the case of apprentices); and • £5.93 per hour for low paid workers aged 21 and over.

BTA awards...NOMINATE US PLEASE!

We have yet again been selected for nomination for the British Travel Awards for 2010...Voting is now open and you can vote on the BTA website, or you can click one of the BTA Voting Buttons on the TFT website and vote for us. We are up for "Best Travel Industry Training Programme" again, of which we won Silver last year. Tui won first prize last year, but we are their training provider so some might say we had a double win there! We are up for a new category as well this year - "Best Trade Support website", so if you think our site is helpful, fun, interesting and informative, please vote for us!

All applicants must have assessing experience, and hold either their A1 certificate or D32/D33 certificate, with experience in Travel & Tourism, Customer Service, Sales, Team Leading and Management.
